RIM Remove Kik from BlackBerry App World?

A few days ago we told you about Kik Messenger, a BlackBerry Messenger application platform style, which jeopardized the domain of the BlackBerry market, being a decent competitor to the platform that is so famous in these smartphones.

The application itself was 2.25 million registered users, a more impressive number for an application that was launched three weeks ago.

Undoubtedly, RIM was threatened by this, and closed the application downloads on Friday, without explanation, saying he "could not produce" an explanation to remove the application from the App World, nor did he respond to Ted Livingston , founder of Kik.

The application itself was already quite controversial in various platforms. For example, some people claim that it violates the terms of service iOS Apple, because it imports your contacts without asking for confirmation or anything. However, Livingston fix the problem, and it is launching the update today, applications for iPhone and Android. The update now gives us the option not to import your contacts. Obviously, he was also planning to release this update to BlackBerry, but RIM simply not allow it. What is strange is that the competitor WhatsApp uses a more aggressive way even with the contacts, importing them to the same application servers, and even then, RIM has not yet brought the implementation of World Access, so we say that privacy is not what matters most to the company.

On the other hand, some people say that RIM took the application does not fear competition, but it could have been collapsing Kik servers in the company with the huge traffic that it took so little time
